Linda Marie
Linda Marie (b. 1973) Naarm/Melbourne works across painting, drawing, and installation. Her practice reflects a longstanding fascination with the physical and emotional experience of being immersed in vast landscapes both above and below water and the inherent disconnect that emerges when attempting to communicate these deeply sensory encounters to others.
Linda Marie is an artist and scientist whose work explores the intersection of the abstract and organic with the detailed and figurative. Her practice is inspired by human interactions with the natural world, the experience of being immersed in wild landscapes, and the deep history of our planet. Drawing on both scientific inquiry and artistic expression, she investigates how these disciplines inform and enrich one another. Working primarily with graphite, watercolour, ink, oils, and textiles, Linda Marie creates pieces that reflect the complexity and beauty of the environment.
